MFLL Translation Conference Scholarship

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures will support one student annually to attend the American Translators Association annual conference, which takes place in October.  The competition is open to any student majoring in an MFLL language (undergraduate preferred) who has an interest in and a record of translating. The scholarship covers registration, travel and lodging (maximum $1,500).

The scholarship is for the purpose of attending the ATA annual meeting, in order to interact with professional translators and gain perspective on translation as a career.  Students who are interested should submit a one-page letter of interest detailing their background in translation/interpretation, including any UT or other university courses, along with a short narrative regarding what they hope to learn or achieve by attending this conference.  Applications should be addressed to Adrian Del Caro (delcaro@utk.edu) as an email attachment, no later than April 1st.

For more information about the conference, please visit http://www.atanet.org/events/annual_conference.php.
