Faculty Research Seminar

The Latin American and Caribbean Literatures faculty (Professors Cano, Duke, Gimmel, Handelsman, and Rivera-Rodas) received a Faculty Research Seminar grant of $5K from UTK's Humanities Initiative for the 2009-10 academic year to develop research projects that rethink the literary history of the region. The collective research project will also produce a new graduate curriculum focused on colonization, cosmopolitism, and decolonization. The LACL faculty group will invite to its seminar discussions those PhD students in MFLL and faculty from other programs who are working on themes relevant to Latin American and Caribbean literatures, histories, and societies.
